Goals and Missions
- To support individuals with epilepsy across all aspects of their lives, including diagnosis, treatment, education, and beyond.
- To organize and empower people with epilepsy, ensuring they have access to the essential services and resources they need.
- To mobilize legal, financial, spiritual, and community support from individuals, organizations, and both governmental and non-governmental institutions. This support aims to enhance diagnosis, treatment, education, employment opportunities, and overall living conditions for people with epilepsy and their families.
Vision
Globally, 1-3% of the population has epilepsy or has experienced seizures, totaling about 70,000 affected individuals in Isfahan, regardless of gender or age. Without proper diagnosis and management, they face personal, social, and economic challenges. Our priority is to accurately estimate prevalence and promote societal awareness through interdisciplinary collaboration. Preventive efforts focus on reducing risk factors, improving social skills, and boosting self-esteem. Addressing stigma—often leading to social isolation—is essential. Distributing educational materials and engaging communities can foster understanding and safety for those with epilepsy. The Isfahan Epilepsy Society Association, supported by neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors, is dedicated to enhancing their physical and mental well-being. We call on government and NGOs to collaborate, organize educational events, and create a supportive environment for better care and awareness.
